Dear Parents,
We have been informed that we have a confirmed positive case at St Brigid’s. The case has been reported to the DFE and Public Health West Midlands and all the necessary steps and measures have been taken.
We know that we are in uncertain and worrying times. PLEASE stay safe and well.
Dear Parents,
School will be open on Tuesday 26th January to children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils. Remote learning will continue as usual for all other pupils.
Please take extra care on pavements and paths as you make your way into school.
Parents who are critical workers / vulnerable children who are not attending should report any absences by calling the school by 9am.
Take care and stay safe and well.
SCHOOL CLOSURE: Monday 25th January 2021
Dear parents and carers,
Due to the poor weather conditions we are currently experiencing and after careful consideration and assessment of the risks involved, all Lumen Christi schools sites will remain closed to staff and all pupils, tomorrow, Monday 25th January.
Although the snowfall seems to have eased, it is still quite deep in some areas and with reduced traffic due to lockdown, some roads are significantly affected. Our main concern is that temperatures are due to drop below freezing throughout the night and into the morning which would make for treacherous conditions for staff and pupils travelling to school. For the health and safety of everyone and to support efforts to minimise the potential impact of additional accidents on the NHS we feel this is the best decision.
As a result of the hard work and initiative of staff over these challenging months, teachers and pupils are well prepared for continuing with their education and accessing remote learning when they are not in school tomorrow. There may be limited provision of live lessons but pupils should be familiar with how they approach their on line learning and parents can access further ideas and activities via the school website. Any time away from the screen for physical activity could of course be spent outside in the snow!
The weather seems set to improve from mid-morning tomorrow and so we envisage re-opening school sites at the usual times on Tuesday morning for those vulnerable and key worker pupils who have been attending already this term.
The leaders and staff of Lumen Christi remain committed to working in the best interests of our children and families during the current challenges.
Stay home, keep warm and keep safe!
