Principal's Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of all the Staff and Governors, I welcome you to the website of St. Brigid’s Catholic Primary School.
Our school mission is: ‘We educate our children in a Catholic community with Christ at the centre’.
The children come first in our mission and in our school and we welcome those of all faiths as we are all made special and unique by God.
As a community, we work collaboratively with you at home, our school and parish in order to provide the best support together, enabling children to flourish and grow to their full God-given potential and be the young people God wants them to be, guided by the teaching of the Gospel values and Catholic virtues.
At St Brigid’s, we will assist parents, as the primary educators, in preparing the children for the next stage in their education and faith journey.
We are a happy, caring and successful school which is well-respected in the local community and has well-established links with Our Lady and St. Brigid’s Church which is adjacent to the school site.
Our broad and balanced curriculum is knowledge-rich and provides the children with the opportunities to extend and enrich their learning, tailored to suit the needs of the children in our local community. This is supplemented with the support from many visitors, external providers and through educational visits.
St. Brigid’s is a long-serving member and partner of the Lumen Christi Catholic Multi Academy Company (CMAC). The well-established partnership and collaboration which exists between the schools, enables the children and young people to enjoy a breadth of opportunities to be prepared to play an active part in contributing to society (Cultural Capital) and allows staff to hone their professional skills, sharing their expertise and best practice with colleagues to ensure our children are given memorable and life-changing experiences.
Even though St. Brigid’s is in a family of schools as part of a Multi Academy Company, it still retains its own identity, and with the support from the other Catholic schools, has continued to develop from strength-to-strength.
We hope that you will enjoy learning about St Brigid’s through the information provided on the school website and that you feel you gain a real insight into how we care for our children. We hope that you decide to send your son or daughter to add to our happy school, then we look forward to building a successful partnership together in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Breslin
Principal
