Each child in our school is a part of a house team. We have five house teams:
Each team is assigned a teacher as head of house and two house captains from Year 6. Their role involves representing their house in collecting trophies and being leading examples for their team.
House | Lead teacher | Feast Day | Colour |
St. Brigid | Mrs Goodes | 1st February | Red |
St. David | Mrs Hannon | 1st March | Yellow |
St. Andrew | Mrs Lynskey | 30th November | Blue |
St. George | Mrs Devitt | 23rd April | White |
St. Patrick | Mrs Taggart | 17th March | Green |
Children receive house points for lots of different things like good behaviour, using their manners, being polite and helpful, producing excellent work, contributing to class discussions and being positive role models around school. Special certificates are awarded to pupils who achieve 100, 200 or 300 house points in a school year.
When a child receives a house point, it is recorded on a class chart. Each week, a team of Year 6 pupils count the house points and the results are announced in Gifts From God Assembly each Friday. Ribbons in the colours of the winning team are tied around the trophy and the trophy is then placed in the entrance on display for the rest of the week.
We celebrate the feast days of our house saints by holding celebratory activities. We come to school proudly dressed in the colour of our house and enjoy special events and activities organised for us. Take a look at some of our recent house celebrations.
