I have St Brigid’s name running through my body like a stick of Blackpool Rock! In 1959 I started at St Brigid’s School I was based at that time in the Annex at Hill Top Park. Along with my sister and four brothers a further 12 nieces and nephews attended St Brigid’s Primary school.
I married Pamela in July 1977 at St Brigid’s Church and we have three children who all attended the school, we have had three grandchildren carry on the family tradition of attending the school and another granddaughter waiting in the wings for her turn!
I have degrees in Applied Social Science and a Master of Business Administration; I worked at Longbridge for 20 years as a senior manager in Supply and Distribution followed by 20 years in car delivery.
I love all sports, reading, and music, spending time with my family and like all newly retired people, wonder how on earth I ever had time to go to work!
I spent 20 years as a Lay Reader at Church, also assisting Norman Brookes in introducing the hymns at 9am Mass. For the best part of 30 years I have been a Eucharistic Minister and continue to be humbled by this experience. I was a Governor at Bishop Challoner School for a 5 year period in the late 1980’s early 1990’s.
I look forward to assisting, wherever I can, all the staff at St. Brigid’s in their endeavour to provide excellence in all matters relating to Catholic education and holistic development of all pupils.
