My connection to the St Brigid’s parish runs through my family as it was the parish my Grandad attended. I attended St John Fisher’s school then went from there onto St Paul’s School for girls where I decided at a young age that it was my ambition to become a teacher myself. I moved to KEFW for sixth form and then studied BSc Geography at Leeds University. My passion to be a teacher continued and I undertook at PGCE in Secondary Education and became a teacher of Geography. During the early years of my career I went on to become a Masters of Education, but more importantly I became a mother.
Fast forward 10 years and I now have three children at the school who from September 2021 will be in Yr 5, Yr 3 and Nursery. I am still a teacher part-time but in a specialist provision where I teach Humanities primarily, but also have a huge pastoral role towards the students.
I am looking forward to being part of the School Standards Committee as a Parent Representative because I feel that St Brigid’s is a wonderful community made up of incredible staff and students.
