E-Safety
The internet is a brilliant platform for children to learn and have fun and within our learning at St Brigid’s and we encourage the children to use it regularly and build on their skills.
Technology has become such a normal part of day-to-day life, however making sure your child has a healthy balance between the online and real worlds can be difficult.
There are risks online, just like in the real world, therefore it is important to understand what children are doing online so that you can guide them. Taking risks is a normal part of growing up, but in the online world this can have long-term effects. It is important to create a balance between allowing your child to experiment and develop their independence, and making sure they are aware of what can go wrong and how to deal with it.
This page has some tips and ideas to support you helping your child manage their online behaviour and links where you can get more advice if you are worried or would like to know more.
Safety on the internet matters. Our fun, interactive, stop motion animated video has useful advice and tips for parents of 6-10s so that you can help them to stay safe online. From toddlers to teens, our four 'E-safety tips for parents' videos are age specific to help you keep up with e-safety as they grow up.
Cartoon 'Lee & Kim' if you have small children from 4 -- 7 years then you should let them view this short 10 minute cartoon, which is designed to keep them safe whilst online and more importantly, this cartoon teaches them in their early years.
